Sinaloa’s Electronics Industry: A Rising Star in Mexico’s Manufacturing Landscape
Sinaloa, a western Mexican state traditionally known for agriculture, is diversifying its industries and emerging as a hub for the electronics sector. Major cities, such as Los Mochis, Guasave, and Culiacán, are home to global electronics companies like Delphi, Sumitomo Contec, Walbro Engine Management, Hikam, and InserTech. These manufacturers collectively employ thousands of workers across the state. Delphi, for instance, has 5,000 employees in its automotive production facilities, while Sumitomo Contec operates eight processing plants with over 4,000 jobs. Sinaloa’s export culture, young and skilled labor force, and ongoing infrastructure development make it an attractive destination for foreign investment in the electronics industry.
